My Fav Products

Products don’t make the hair but they can help make the hair look and feel awesome.  I prefer to wet my hair daily and I am not big on slicking back my edges or constantly battling frizzies.  I am a weekly styler so most products used help maintain my style 5 days without compromising moisture.  I do not like heavily scented products and look to avoid silicones, sulfates, paraben, mineral oil and petroleum.  My hair is protein sensitive and my porosity level does care for heavy oils or butters.

Co-Wash Condish

  • Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition
  • Suave Naturals Tropical Coconut
  • Yes to Carrots

 Deep Condish

  • Darcy’s Botanicals Avocado & Honey Twisting Cream
  • Donna Marie Super Buttercreme
  • Mozeke Sweet Almond Pudding
  • Mozeke Whipped Avocade Cream

I do not use all these things at once.  Items in the same category are used interchangeably or used when wearing a particular style.

  3. If you haven’t tried the Giovanni products, you are missing out! You can get them at the store but they are cheaper online. I can’t afford the expensive kinky curly products. Definitely try the smooth as silk conditioner, you won’t regret it! I have very very kinky, dry hair and this works wonders.

  7. Have you tried Natty Moist or Natty Butter, it’s a home made ayurvedic products by Alll Things O’Natural I love it!! Natty Moist can be used as a conditionder, deep conditioner, daily styler & skin enhancer!! I love her products and it smells sooo good!!

  8. I use the Shea Moisture Organic Raw Shea Butter Moisture Retention Shampoo (whew! That was a mouthful!) and I love it! It makes my hair feel so soft after using that it doesn’t even feel like I need conditioner afterwards (I do, of course). I recently ordered some Komaza products that I can’t wait to try…so excited!

  10. Hi! Can you elaborate on “protein sensitive hair”? I’ve been natural for 16 months. And I’m still learning. I think I’m doing a good job, but always wanting to learn more and understand my hair better. Thanks in advance!!!!

  11. I absolutely love the Kinky Curly Line when I am going for ultra defined curls. It makes me feel like a coiffed star & you know Yogachi Buster Hair Butter is my butter staple!!!
Good List! I wish that relaxed girls would get in on it too – so many of these products are relaxer friendly and will give moisture and sheen to their relaxed hair also.

  12. I had a bad experience with Mozeke products! Her customer service was unsatisfactory. I emailed her and she took a while to respond. Then she made me feel bad for asking a question. I haven’t tried her products but I won’t be ordering from her company.
How was your customer service experience with Mozeke?

    • I am sorry to hear that, bad customer service is the worst and can be a real turn-off even if a company has great products. That has not been my experience with Mozeke. I started purchasing her products in Nov 2011 and have had minimal issues. We had a bad shipping mishap but that was not her fault but rather the post office that lost my shipment. She has been responsive to me via email and twitter. I am sorry you had a bad experience.
