DIY: Kim’s Winter Weather Deep Conditioner

People often ask me, how do you come up with your own recipes? Elementary my dear Watson, I just gather things that my hair likes and get to mixing.  Other times I look at ingredients which are in products I like and I try to re-create it in my own kitchen.  Kitchen chemistry is easy and fun to do.  So grab your your favorite oils, butters, herbs, and whatever else you have on hand and start mixing.

This recipe comes courtesy of my curlfriend and subby, Kim who whipped this up in her kitchen.  It is packed full of rich and creamy ingredients, great for combating the dry winter tresses.

Kim’s Winter Weather Deep Conditioner

  • 4 Tbsp conditioner
  • 1 Tbsp honey
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp vegetable glycerin
  • 1 tsp whipped shea butter
  • 1/4 c. coconut milk

Mix all ingredients together in a bowl.  Microwave for 15-20 seconds then apply to hair and cover with plastic cap.  Allow to sit on hair for 15-20 minutes then rinse.

  1. This is something I could try. I saw on another blog where someone used just straight cocunut milk as they deep conditioner. To see that this recipe has cocunut milk really made me want to try it. I will cone back and let you know how I liked it.
