Product Review: Herbal Essences Totally Twisted

Herbal Essences Totally Twisted

Shampoo and Conditioner

Available at drug stores

$3 per bottle

Naturals everywhere love Herbal Essences products because they smell good and work well.  More specifically the Hello Hydration is raved about everywhere.  I have use the hello hydration and it worked ok, but I couldn’t get past the smell. It has a nice tropical scent but I found it to be too overpowering, so we decided to give this one a try.

I used both the shampoo and conditioner on my hair this morning.  I wet my hair under the faucet then smoothed on a quarter-sized amount of shampoo to my hair in the downward direction.  I did not focus on my scalp because I wanted to make sure I didn’t have any chlorine in my hair from the hot tub.  Anyway I rinsed the shampoo then smoothed over a palm-full of conditioner and rinsed.

The shampoo was cleansing but did not overly dry my hair.  However it was not gentle like no/low sulfate poos I normally use.  The conditioner was lighter as compared to the Hello Hydration and was much easier to distribute.  I did not need to detangle but I did lightly finger-comb my hair and got ok results.  The products are scented with lavender and jade extracts which smells light and floral.

I think these products are average 3 on a 5-point scale but I definitely prefer the totally twisted to hello hydration.  These products are my daughter’s staples and she LOVES the totally twisted.

Here is a picture of my hair after shampoo and condish with Totally Twisted then scrunching in some Koils by Nature Lavendar & Eucalyptus Gel.
