Product Review: Kiss My Face Liquid Rock Natural Deodorant

Kiss My Face

Liquid Rock Natural Deodorant

3 oz for ~$6

Available at Whole Foods

ing: Aqua, Potassium Alum, Polysorbate 20, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Natural Fragrance/Parfum naturel, Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea Leaf Extract/Extrait de feuilles de th? vert) Salix Alba, (Willow Bark Extract/Extrait d’ecorse de saule), Usnea Barbata (Lichen Extract/Extrait de lichen), Sodium Phytate, Phenoxyethanol, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate

Ok so you know I have been on this natural deodorant kick for a while.  I tried Oyin’s Funk Butter which I liked but you have to apply it using your fingers (like Tussy) and I was looking for something with an applicator.  This is a roll-on deodorant so it is easy to apply and is better for travel.

5 Things I Love About This Product

  1. Nice scent.  I grabbed the cucumber green tea which has a nice light scent.  It also comes in other fragrances lavender, patchouli, sport or fragrance free.
  2.  Free of parabens, phthalates and aluminum chlorhydrate meaning its free from harsh chemicals.
  3. Does not leave residue on clothing or turn yellow.  It rinses clean in hot water.
  4. Non-irritating to skin and does leave a film.
  5. It really works.

Its important to note that this is deodorant and not antiperspirant so it will not keep you from sweating.  The thing is that you will sweat but you won’t stink.  I have been using this product for about a month now and have encountered several situations and it has yet to let me down.  Now after a workout, run, or game of basketball you will smell less than fresh (duh) but for day to day this works fine.  A tip on maintaining freshness when switching to a natural deodorant is to exfoliate under your arms at least 1x week.  This will remove the dead skin cells, dirt, and anything else left accumulating under there which lends itself to funk.

This product gives great 8-10 hour protection for me.  If I am going out after work I will wash up under my arms and re-apply.  I also like that the scent is not so odoriferous that it rivals any perfume, or scented lotion I may be wearing.  I am very pleased with this product and will repurchase again.

  1. I just ordered Oyin funk butter two days ago because my deodorant was irritating my skin. I haven’t received it yet. I might also try the Kiss My Face that you used since I shop at Whole Foods. Thanks for the info :)

    • Oyin’s Funk butter now comes in a better container which I think is a good improvement. The product worked well for me but i prefer something in an applicator. Come back and let me know your thoughts once you get it.

  2. Girl, I need a deodorant AND antiperspirant lol I’ve never understood how these natural products work for some people. I’d love to give one a try but I sweat a lot and I just don’t think something natural can knock out the funk #tmi

Is Oyin’s Funk both a deodorant and antiperspirant?

    • None of them are antiperspirants those are the ingredients we are trying to avoid, lol :) Girl give it a try you will sweat but it won’t be smelly. Try it on a Saturday and slowly work it into your beauty regimen. Also try exfoliating under your arms it really works.

  3. What a great review! I personally use Naturally Fresh Deodorant Crystal. The Roll On and Boxed Crystal Stick are in most Walmart stores for just $2.97. I love that the Crystal can last up to a year! Plus, both products provide pure and natural protection without all the chemicals in conventional antiperspirants. You should check them out! :) http://www.naturallyfreshdeodorantcrystal.com/
